We had 2 short weeks! And this past one seemed to fly by with too much to do. I did not get a chance to blog - so here I am, catching up! Sorry!
We had an amazing time last week learning about Christopher Columbus, exploring and mapping! Pam shared a wonderful book related to our unit that I did not get to share with the class - The Secret Birthday Message" by Eric Carle. We all know Eric Carle for "The Very Hungry Caterpillar", but if you get a chance, he wrote many other great books!
Lots of things coming up, so be on the look-out in your child's folder and emails from me/PTO and the blog. We have our Field Trip on Tuesday, 10/19. Please remember to wear your green Denton Creek Trailblazer shirt and bring lunch in a sack (if you cannot, your child can buy one in the cafeteria that morning. Only peanut butter and jelly though!). The following week is Red Ribbon Week. There is usually a theme and every day we dress up or wear something different to show our commitment to "Just say no". Next Friday, 10/29, is a packed morning of activities. 1st, we have the Denton Creek Storybook Character Parade. Please remember to bring the storybook with you for the parade. After the parade, Kindergarten will be having a Fall Festival - to celebrate fall and wrap up our learning about fall and farms.

- I was born and raised in NYC. Over 10 years ago, I met my husband, Joe, right here in Dallas, while we were attending training for our job. He lived in Houston at the time, and we went our separate ways. A couple of years later, he moved to NY for a career change and partly because I "never" thought I'd move to Texas (famous last words!). We got married in 2003 and moved to Dallas in 2004 so that I could become a teacher. We live in Valley Ranch, and this is my 6th year teaching, all of them in Kindergarten. I have 2 children, Meghan (3) and Blake (1). Life is definitely interesting!!!
