Questions?

As finish up the 2nd week of school, do you have any questions?  I'm sure this experience of having a kindergartner is new.  Well, never fear - I am here!  :)  You may have noticed on your child's calendar that next Tuesday, September 7th, it says Curriculum Night.  If you are new, you are probably wondering, "What is Curriculum Night? Do I bring my child?  Who's going to speak?"    Well, Curriculum night is a time for parents only, to come visit with their child’s teachers, me.  Beginning at 5:00 I will tell you about kindergarten at Denton Creek.  You will learn about the curriculum, schedules, procedures, expectations, and learn what goes on in a typical day.  There will be a time for you to ask questions, also.  

In your child's folder today, there were several pieces of paper:
-The one on the lime green paper is to order the grade level t-shirt.  We strongly encourage everyone to order one.  It is a great price to have a spirit shirt, for one thing.  We all try to wear our grade level t-shirts when when we go on field trips as well as on Field Day (at the end of the year).  Also, Fridays are spirit wear days. 

-The one on the plain white copy paper is a dinner order form for the School-Wide Social.  If you are new to Denton Creek, it is a great way to meet other families in a relaxed setting.  If you are a veteran family, it's a great way to reconnect with other families in the midst of our busy lives.  But most importantly, I'll be there!  I'd love to see you and your family there!

-The one on the tan paper is a drawing contest - if your child is interested, they can potentially be the designer of the cover for the Denton Creek Directory this year!  Everyone who purchases a copy (or becomes a member of PTO) will see the winner's artistic talent!  The deadline is September 9th.
